Stop comparing yourself to other photographers, and instead start competing with them! The "dirty little secret" about owning a photography studio (much less, two of them, like me!) is that this is a scary industry. It's so easy to get stuck with comparing your work, your prices, your style... your everything to other Instagram feeds of other photographers. If you really want to know the truth though, the reality is that those photographers are just as scared as you.

The other truth behind running a photography business is that 95% of your job is doing stuff other than photography! Marketing, invoicing, posting, editing, you name it... there's a lot to do after a session is done!

I am in the process of developing an online shop for photographers that offers templates, guides, practical advice and 1:1 mentorships. I have worked in this industry for over a decade, and have been blessed and strategic enough to be recognized by many industry authorities as one of the top photographers in the nation. In late 2021, just as the world was starting to normalize again after the pandemic, I found myself in a position to be able to expand into a second market, and now operate in both Scottsdale, AZ and Durango, CO. I've become a total snowbird in my lower 40's and I have absolutely zero regrets!
